About Me

Sam and Kristen Kang      I Love Virginia! I grew up in Fredericksburg and came to Newport News in 1999 to attend Christopher Newport University. In my 4 years at CNU, I grew fond of the Hampton Roads area. I graduated in 2003 with a degree in Communication Studies and a Minor in Leadership Studies. I spent the next three years as a youth pastor at Mt. Zion Fellowship before continuing ministry work with By Grace Community Church. While working at Mt. Zion, I worked as a construction manager and also began my career as a real estate appraiser. My experience in the construction and real estate appraisal field has given me a unique advantage as a mortgage specialist. I currently work with Axcel Financial Corporation, a reputable and ethical mortgage brokerage in Newport News.
      I am a member of the Virginia Mortgage Lenders Association and currently pursuing an AMB. I have passed the VA State Licensing Exam for a real estate appraiser and I am currently practicing with Leading Edge Res., LLC.
      My passion in life is the glory of God. I enjoy playing guitar and piano, cooking, films, travel, and all sports.
      I currently reside in Newport News with my wife Kristen.
